Plot:
Clare is a young woman on the autism spectrum, working in the exhilarating field of artificial intelligence. When she loses her mother suddenly in a tragic accident, she begins to spiral in search of answers. Her mother, also a gifted programmer, leaves behind an AI version of herself for Clare. Clare learns things she never knew about her mother, including deeply held secrets. Now she must learn what is true and what is fiction and uncover the truth about her mother’s untimely passing.

I have always pondered about death and the finality of it. In a digital age, how much of ourselves do we leave behind? What writings, stories, photos and facts do we leave behind to be pieced together? Can we be recreated anew? Closer to God explores the themes of trauma, loss and how the advent of new technologies leaves a world of possibility like never before. As we open this pandoras box, what is real and what is not? Do we really know the people in our lives? What secrets do we all hold?
