What unfolds is an adventure unlike any she could imagine, as she joins the first female pilots association, The Ninety-Nines, befriending Earhart and other pioneers and eventually serving a staring role in World War Two.

In an effort to restore their relationship, Clare decides to build her mother as an artificial intelligence. Clare then learns things she never knew about her mother, including deeply held secrets. Now she must learn what is true, and what is fiction.
